We make safety measurable

Perhaps you know this from your own world:

Training for employees, especially when required by the authorities, is often perceived as an annoying MUST. Sometimes they are also seen as a time and resource-consuming obstacle rather than a safety-enhancing development for the employee and, as a result, for the entire company.

Many owners of small and medium-sized companies as well as decision-makers from larger organizations in the transport industry and emergency services tell us about the great difficulty in demonstrating the return on investment (ROI) of the often not inconsiderable financial burden of training measures and thus justifying it.

The extent to which the amount of time and money spent on training controls the security level of a company or organization is and remains a question that is as often asked as it is usually unanswered.

Questions as indicators for assessing the operational safety level can be at the beginning:

  • Does the frequency of claims and the actual insurance benefit change positively with the number of training measures?
  • Could insurance premiums be reduced through safety analyses, risk assessments and targeted training measures?
  • Are all employees in the transportation industry, emergency and rescue services up to date with the constantly changing rules and regulations?
  • Can a reduction in fines due to reduced violations of driving and social regulations be proven?
  • Do police complaints change as a result of recurring training?
  • Are employees of emergency and rescue services as well as towing and recovery companies fully familiar with the assessment of safety risks and the resulting relevant regulations and recommendations for the recovery, towing, storage and transportation of electric vehicles involved in accidents and have they received practical training?

If you can answer all the questions relevant to your company or organization with a definite YES, you can look back with pride on a high level of security.

If the answer to the questions is not so easy, the good news is all the clearer:

THAT MAY CHANGE!

In order to make the impact of training on safety measurable, we use successful models as our benchmark.

There is no doubt that international civil aviation is characterized by a generally recognized level of safety that has never been achieved before. It is the result of decades of intensive cooperation between safety and training departments of all organizations involved in aviation with modern safety management.

Numerous scientific studies have comprehensively researched the human factor influencing operational safety and thus created the basis for new training approaches. A quantum leap was the change from task-centered to competence-based pilot training.

Whereas in the old system the successful completion of a specific and defined task was the criterion, the training and application of necessary skills is now the core of modern training for commercial pilots in order to be well prepared for different and previously unknown situations.

Resilience, understanding and adhering to intelligently described procedures, the use of checklists, simple risk assessments under high workloads, etc. are just some of the elements that other areas such as emergency medicine and surgical teams have also used with great success.

Successful companies are characterized by their willingness to learn from others and to transfer functioning models to their own sector. We can help you with this!

With the Competence Center for Safety in Traffic (KoSiV), we combine the world of practice in the road transport industry and the recovery and towing sector with the successful concept of competence-based training in civil aviation.

The active involvement of each training participant ensures that the learning content is firmly anchored. The same applies to the interactive solution of practical tasks to teach the necessary skills. The aim of our training courses is to enable participants to find the best possible solution even in unfamiliar and challenging situations. To achieve this, we work actively with a broad-based team of experienced experts from various areas of expertise.

Aviation has proven this: The quality of training determines the level of safety and thus the operational quality of an operation.

With practice-oriented and sustainable training, in-depth analysis in operational implementation and the transfer of knowledge and safety-promoting systems from aviation, we make safety measurable.
